Mac connection guide

Steps

  1. Select System Preferences from the Apple menu
  2. Double-click Network
  3. Select AirPort and turn off
  4. Click Advanced
  5. Delete existing ANU profiles
  6. Click + to add a new profile
  7. Type ANU-Secure (is case-sensitive)
  8. Select Security: WPA2 Enterprise
  9. Enter Uni ID and password
  10. Select 802.1X: Auto
  11. Tick Remember this network
  12. Click Add
  13. Tick Disconnect from wireless networks when logging out
  14. Click Ok
  15. Click Apply
  16. Turn AirPort on and connect to ANU-Secure
  17. Verify connectivity
  18. Verify IP address ..optional
  19. Verify web access ..optional

Ensure the AirPort is off so that the rest of the configuration goes smoothly.

4. Click Advanced

5. Delete existing ANU profiles

Delete any existing ANU profile by selecting it and clicking the '-' button. You should delete any ANU-Access profile since you won't be needing it any more. Note: The Mac may prefer to connect to ANU-Access instead of ANU-Secure if both profiles exist.

6. Click + to add a new profile

7. Type ANU-Secure (is case-sensitive)

8. Select Security: WPA2 Enterprise

If 'WPA2 Enterprise' is not presented as an option you should seek support for the issue.

9. Enter Uni ID and password

10. Select 802.1X: Auto

11. Tick Remember this network

12. Click Add

13. Tick Disconnect from wireless networks when logging out

16. Turn AirPort on and connect to ANU-Secure

17. Verify connectivity

If your connection was successful you should see 'Authenticated via PEAP (Inner Protocol GTC)' in the network preferences window

18. Verify IP address (optional)

Click 'Advanced' in the Network preferences window, then select the 'TCP/IP' tab. Your IP Address should be in the 130.56.x.x range. This can take a few seconds to show up.

19. Verify web access (optional)

A final check is to verify that you can browse to an off-campus website, such as Google
